A number of flexible and highly-motivated Project Assistants are sought to join our expanding team and support all aspects of our service, with at least one to specialise in our maths and science projects.

Educational products contain huge volumes of content drawn from a number of sources, such as series authors, photo libraries, designers and recording sessions. This content must be collated, checked for quality and progressed through the appropriate developmental and editorial processes. A key role within this is to track progress, ensuring content status is available to Project Managers, as well as identifying and chasing anything that remains outstanding. This involves liaising closely with key people, including authors, developers, editors and clients.

Content processing
Quite often, content will need simple processing, manipulation or conversion. This might include formatting text documents, editing audio and video files or image manipulation. Training will be provided.

Essential skills
Successful candidates will have:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong spelling ability and grammatical knowledge.
  • Strong IT skills: The successful candidate will be confident with the use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, and basic Excel) as well as the ability to communicate efficiently via email. Elektra Media will provide training for on-screen editing tasks.
  • Maths or statistics to A level or higher/one or more science subjects to
A level or higher (for at least one of the roles)

Essential traits
The successful candidate will possess the following qualities:
  • Attention to detail
  • Can-do approach and willingness to learn
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Ability to problem solve and use initiative
  • Commitment and enthusiasm

Beneficial experience (not essential)
  • Editorial
  • Data entry
  • Electronic testing
  • Previous publishing experience
  • Knowledge of the UK education sector

As the role has an immediate start, we will process applications as soon as they are received and aim to interview candidates as soon as possible.
Unfortunately due to the high number of applications we usually receive, it is not possible to respond to unsuccessful applications.
